The 11th Global Investigative Journalism Conference is scheduled for this September 26-29 in Hamburg, Germany, at two state-of-the-art venues: the Spiegel Publishing House and the HafenCity University Hamburg. The conference will be co-hosted by the Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN), Netzwerk Recherche (NR) and the Interlink Academy for International Dialog and Journalism.
Designed by journalists for journalists, GIJC19 will focus, as always, on practical skills, technology and training. The organizers are busy putting together cutting-edge panels, workshops and networking sessions, ranging from cross-border collaboration and corruption tracking to advanced data analysis. We’ve already signed up a world-class list of trainers that include Pulitzer Prize winners, data journalism pioneers and the field’s top practitioners from around the world.
Here’s your opportunity to propose great ideas for the conference. Add your suggestions in the embedded form below by February 4, 2019. In keeping with the GIJC tradition, the session ideas should be skills-based – focused on the tools, techniques and how-to of investigative and data journalism. We don’t want “war stories,” we want methodology. For examples of past successful sessions, refer to our programs for GIJC13, GIJC15 and GIJC17.
Note: The working language of the conference is English so the proposed speakers should speak and understand English. Please also submit your suggestions and ideas in English.
